Although there are different definitions, economics is a branch of science that includes social and economic relations from the production-consumption process of goods and services to the distribution of resources in more general terms. The primary goal of the Economics Department is to develop students' knowledge and skills regarding economic theory. Additionally, our department aims to provide the student with the infrastructure to improve themselves in fields such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Econometrics and Law, thanks to the basic courses of other social sciences such as Business Administration, Political Science and Public Administration included in the curriculum.
The economics department aims to provide information about the structure, functioning, problems and possible solutions of today's economies. In this context, it follows a curriculum that focuses on the micro and macro characteristics of the economy. It also aims to provide information about the characteristics of the international economy and to help students gain knowledge about the position of the national economy and relationship with the world economy. Graduates of the economics department have career opportunities in public bureaucracy, private sector, auditing, finance and banking. In addition, with the Master's and Doctoral programs within the Institute affiliated to our university, there is also the possibility of postgraduate Economics education that will enable students to progress both academically and in business life.
